同波士頓其它許多景點一樣，這個紀念碑也是和獨立戰爭相關的，邦克山戰役是一場重要的戰役。紀念碑建造的比較早，形式還模仿着方尖碑，不夠這裡是可以上去看風景的。

It was the first major armed conflict between the British Army and colonial militias, with heavy casualties on both sides. It was one of the most famous battles in the War of Independence. The monument began construction in 1827 and was built for visitors in 1843. It is one of the earliest monuments in the United States. It is 67 meters high. It has a magnificent view and a small museum beside the monument. It is very good.
