Ok. I have lived in San Diego all of my life and have also lived just next to OB Dog Beach. I always have Dog Beach as my go-to place for my plethora of dogs. Mind you it's super stinky when you get out of your car (the dogs can't wait to pee on the wall as soon as you let them out) and it's not always clean (sometimes they run out of poop bags. Most of the time people are super lazy in cleaning up after their pets). But once you get near the water it is heaven for your pooch. I will warn you that you have to keep a really good eye on them. Some dogs just want to fight. It has the eccentric vibe of OB with it's hippiness. I love to walk the entire shore and so do my dogs. P.S. tourists...don't bring your lunch or picnic here. Just not a great idea for a place with a million dogs.
