東關清真寺是西寧古城著名的建築，位於西寧東關大街路南一側。寺院佔地面積1.194萬平方米，大殿本體佔地面積1102平方米，南北樓各363平方米。

東關清真大寺也是西寧的一大人文歷史景觀區，位於西寧市中心區，交通方便。我們抵達這裏已是下午，入內参觀無需門票。據介紹，東關清真大寺始建於公元1380年左右，屬於明朝的洪武年間，歷史悠久，是青海省目前最大的伊斯兰教寺院，也是西北地區四大清真寺之一。目前，伊斯蘭式樣的寺院大門建築正在維修，緊靠大門兩側的則是兩座三層六角形高8米的中國式亭閣建築，叫宣禮樓。寺院廣場的後面就是大殿了，大殿極具我國古典建築和民族風格，雕梁彩檐、金碧輝煌，再後面則是關於伊斯蘭歷史的大型浮雕。整個寺院面積不大，但建築風格別具特色，值得一看。
