Xi'an Drum Tower is located in the center of the ancient capital of Xi'an. It is about 200 meters northwest of Xi'an Bell Tower at the intersection of four main streets, east, west, north and south, in the wall of the Ming Dynasty. Founded in 1380, Zhu Yuanzhang Hongwu, Taizu of the Ming Dynasty, is one of the largest and most complete drum towers left over from ancient China. The Drum Tower in Xi'an is built on the square base and is a brick-wood structure with a heavy eaves at the top. It is 36 meters high and covers an area of 1377 square meters. There are stairs to circle up. The eaves are covered with dark green glazed tiles. The building is decorated with gold paintings and carved beams. The top of the eaves is a golden treasure roof. It is a landmark building in Xi'an.
