五棱郭塔位於五棱郭公園西南邊的入口附近，登上90米高的展望台，可以俯瞰五棱郭公園的星形城郭全景，還可由此觀賞遠處的函館山、津輕海峽等風光。塔內還設有介紹五棱郭歷史的展廳、禮品專賣店及餐廳。 ·五棱郭塔不僅是觀賞五棱郭公園的絕佳之地，在一年四季還能看到不同的景色。
