如果說紐約下城，除了著名的華爾街以及銅牛，歸零地也是一大紐約必打卡旅遊景點，但是不同於紐約其他的熱鬧紛繁，感覺歸零地賊又多幾分歷史的意義，一個巨大的四方形下沉式水池，四周的牌匾上刻着密密的罹難者姓名，還可以看到不少的花朵放置在姓名旁做紀念，世貿遺址旁還有一座銅浮雕，如果時間充裕的話，不妨跟着導航一路走過去，這裡是為了紀念在911事件中英勇救火的消防員而建造的一座長達二十米的銅浮雕，旁邊還有放置在這場災難中不幸殉職的343位消防官兵的照片，搭配一句“May we never forget”，讓人不禁感嘆和平年代的寶貴與美好。站在歸零地，四周都是高聳的摩天大樓，對比感很是強烈。

近十五年過去了，當年的電視畫面讓我至今記憶猶新，兩座曾傲視紐約的大樓只留下了深不見底的地基。為了讓世人銘記這段歷史，也為了表達對罹難者的悼念，在事件發生十年後，這裏被改造成了兩個巨大的下沉式瀑布池，上面刻着所有遇難者的名字。每到一個地方，都會有那麼一個或幾個瞬間令我難忘。而這一次，讓我留下最深刻印象的是美國政府表達的對於生命的敬重。當我站在“歸零地”那兩個深深的水池旁，腦海中立刻重現2001年那悲傷的一幕。聽着瀑布四周內池水嘩嘩地流；看着黑色的大理石上刻滿遇難者的名字；回想着曾經鮮活的生命在那一刻戛然而止……我想這也正是“歸零地”想要傳達給人們的初衷。在災難與痛苦來臨時，一個偉大的民族沒有逃避，而是選擇讓它被世人銘記，即使是繁忙擁擠的市中心也要給歷史留下一席之地。
