Guangdong Museum is located at No. 2 East Pearl River Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. The central axis of Guangzhou's new city is the south of the central area of the Pearl River New Town. It was built in 1957 and opened to the outside world in 1959. The new museum, which was founded in December 2004 and completed in 2010, covers an area of 67,000 square meters. It is the only provincial comprehensive museum in Guangdong Province and also the first-level Museum in the country. Guangdong Museum Exhibition is divided into History Museum, Natural Museum, Art Museum and Pro-Exhibition Hall. As of December 2009, the collection of Guangdong Museum has reached 166,000 pieces (sets). In addition, the museum also has more than 100,000 books and materials.
