Kenting Park, located at the southern end of the Hengchun Peninsula, with its unique climate and geographical conditions, has created a distinct feature from other parts of the island, regardless of geology, animal and plant ecology, marine resources and human features are considerable. Kenting Park was officially established in 1984. It is not only the first park on the island, but also the only park covering the sea area so far. Kenting Park is a tropical climate with coral reefs as its main geology. Near cat nose, dragon pit and goose nose, skirt reefs, cliffs, gullies and other developed coral reef topography can be seen. The sand accumulated in the Bay contains a lot of shellfish sand, while Kenting Forest Recreation Area, Sheding Natural Park and goose nose are Uplifted Coral Reef platforms. Affected by northeast monsoon, the area is also shaped. It has become the aeolian terrain of sand waterfalls, sand rivers, sand dunes and so on. From the perspective of tourism, Kenting provides a multi-level and rich play. To enjoy forest bathing, natural observation, Kenting Forest Recreation Area, Sheding Natural Park and Nanren Lake are excellent choices; to experience the rugged coastal scenery, cat nose, goose nose, Longkeng, sand island, Jiale water and other places have long been well known; to climb a long view, the Dajianshan rising from different peaks is the first choice, Guanshan on Xitai is a good place to see the sunset; Looking at the vast pasture, Kenting pasture, dragon dish can not be missed. In addition, the fire scenery outside the east gate of Hengchun City and the wind blowing sand on the east coast of the peninsula are precious geological wonders in the area, which are worth visiting. If you want to engage in recreational activities in the waters, the main bathing areas in the park are Kenting, Xiaowan, Nanwan, Baishawan, sailstone and so on, while the back wall lake is the base of yacht activities. The sea areas from Wanlitong to Shanhai and from Shadao to Gerongbi are classified as submarine parks. The seabed landscape is very beautiful. They are quite popular animals in diving parks. According to statistics, 114 species of birds, 24 species of reptiles, 162 species of butterflies, 13 species of amphibians and 15 species of mammals are included. Observing red-tailed shrub, red-bellied eagle, gray-faced vulture, Zefu, tern... is a great event in the bird-watching world every year, while the sika deer breeding area in Sheding Nature Park is a milestone in Taiwan's conservation work. The Hengchun Peninsula is surrounded by the sea on three sides, and aquatic organisms such as soft coral forests, algae and shellfish inhabit the seabed. At the same time, it attracts large fish to forage, forming a rich and complete food chain. In addition, Kenting Park has abundant cultural assets, such as the ancient settlements of Hengchun, Nanrenshan Stone House, Goose Bian Lighthouse, and the prehistoric sites found successively on the Hengchun Peninsula, which show the diversity of the local historical coordinates. The park has also built "Qiongyu Industrial History Exhibition Zone" for the special industry of the Hengchun Peninsula, especially the original Hengchun Hemp Ground, which is rebuilt by the former Hengchun Hemp Ground. It retains many footprints and is of great value to visit. The park is planned to include five areas: ecological protection area, special landscape area, historic preservation area, recreation area and general control area. The ecological protection areas include Nanren Mountain, Longkeng, Banana Bay, Sand Island, Sheding High Coral Reef Area, and the sea areas from Xishui to Wanlitong, Guanshan to Baishanose, Sailstone to Sand Island, Goose Running Nose to Wind Blowing Sand. In terms of historical preservation areas, Nanrenshan Shibanwu site and Goose Running Nose Lighthouse have been included in the protection.
