山頂的常綠闊恭弘=叶 恭弘林、到山地矮林再到灌草，建立了長期的垂直的觀測樣地。南嶺的生物多樣性獨具特點。他們發現，每一塊樣地的生物多樣性並不重疊，以微生物為例，不同樣地中的微生物物種都不一樣。

乳源仙門奇峽景區同屬南嶺國家級生態保護區內，其主要景觀有天下第一門（仙門）、天上第一橋（仙人橋）、峽谷竹筏漂流、水簾洞瀑布、財神洞……

南嶺國家森林公園挺不錯的，這裏山清水秀，簡直就是天然的氧吧，挺適合散步休閑。
