The new city hall is the fourth generation of Toronto City Hall. It is located in the center of the city. It was built in 1965. It was designed by Viljo Revell, a Finnish designer. The two buildings are different in height and shape. They are shaped like a shell and consist of two curved buildings surrounded by an arch-shaped City Council building. It represents the history and growth history of Toronto. In front of the building, Nathan Philips Square is named after the former mayor of Toronto. In the evening, there are sound and light performances. The pool in the square is a fountain in summer and a skating rink in winter.
