North University of China, located in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, is a comprehensive teaching and Research University jointly constructed by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China. It is also a key university selected for the basic capacity-building project of colleges and universities in the central and western regions of China, an outstanding engineer education and training program, and a core University in China's aerospace industry. China's military leader and People's First Military Engineering School . Zhongbei University was founded in May 1941. Its predecessor was Taihang Industrial School, a military engineering school founded by the Command of the Eighth Route Army in the Taihang Anti-Japanese Base Area. It later went through North China Military Industrial School and Taiyuan Machinery Manufacturing Industrial School. In 1958, it was upgraded to Taiyuan Mechanical College. In 1993, it was renamed North China Institute of Technology. In June 2004, it was renamed Zhongbei University. As of February 2016, Zhongbei University has two campuses, the main campus and Shuozhou campus, covering an area of 25.01 mu, with a construction area of nearly 1.01 million square meters, a total fixed assets value of 1.93 billion yuan, a total value of 610 million yuan in educational research instruments and equipment, and a collection of 29.1 million books. There are more than 30,000 full-time students, including more than 30,000 doctoral and master students; a total of 23,688 faculty members; a total of 13 secondary colleges. It has 80 undergraduate majors, 6 post-doctoral mobile stations, 23 doctoral and 63 master's programs.

Zhongbei University belongs to a University of science and technology. The first entrance is the statue of Peng Dehuai and the Dhuai Tower named after it. The teaching buildings and dormitory buildings on the east side of the campus are relatively new, while many apartment buildings on the west side have a longer appearance. Campus is close to mountains and rivers. The air environment is good. Campus is not big but green. You can climb Erlong Mountain on campus. Not far from the school gate is Dou Dou's Temple and the rippling water on the rocky beach. It's also a good choice to visit from downtown.

Zhongbei University is a multi-disciplinary teaching and research university co-founded by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and the National Bureau of Defense Science, Technology and Industry and managed by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government. The school's predecessor was Taihang Institute of Technology, the first military engineering school of our party and army founded by the General Command of the Eighth Route Army in the Taihang Anti-Japanese Base in 1941. It has gone through Taiyuan Institute of Machinery and North China Institute of Technology, and was renamed Zhongbei University in June 2004 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. Zhongbei University is located in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, a famous historical and cultural city in China, and has a campus in Shuozhou City. The school covers a total area of 25.51 mu, with a construction area of nearly 1.01 million square meters, a total value of fixed assets of nearly 2.2 billion yuan, and a total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment of 610 million yuan. It can utilize 2.92 million copies of books in Chinese and foreign languages, and has perfect teaching and public service facilities. The school currently has 13 professional colleges, and has graduate schools, reserve officer education institutes, International Education Institutes (preparatory) and other teaching institutions. There are 1 national key disciplines (cultivation), 10 key disciplines in Shanxi Province, 5 key disciplines with advantageous characteristics in Shanxi Province, and 4 national defense characteristic disciplines (orientations) in the 13th Five-Year Plan.
