在最大的“海地獄”旁邊,步行1分鐘即可到達鬼石坊主地獄。除了戶外的小茶館外,沒有紀念品商店,因此請務必在海地獄購物。水泥般精心挑選的泥土的景象與周圍的地獄不同。推薦足浴,因爲它比海地獄開放,人數少。

海地獄旁邊就是鬼石坊主地獄，也是別府八大地獄之一，它有的像泥漿水一樣、有的像水泥顏色，一直在冒着泡，旁邊的山路上也有很大的蒸氣，說明這片土地下的地質活動還是挺平繁的。

鬼石坊主地獄在別府八大地獄中別具特色，地獄旁邊還有一個在營業的可以供遊客泡的溫泉，很有特色。鬼石坊主地獄很漂亮，水的顏色十分特別，大自然中的礦物質形成了奇異的景觀。
