There are four doors leading to Dubrovnik City - "Pile Gate, Plock Gate, Peskarija Gate and Ponta Gate. The city gate of Peskarija was built in 1537. For defensive purposes, there is a suspension bridge at the city gate. Every night in the past, the suspension bridge was pulled up, the city gate was closed and the key was handed over to the supervisor. There is a statue of St. Bryce by the door, the patron saint of the city. After passing through the outer door, there was an inner door, built in 1460, and it was the main block of Dubrovnik after entering the inner door.
