In front of the Duke's Palace is the semi-circular Place de la Lib 233; Ration Dijon Freedom Square. Also known as Liberation Square, magnificent and simple. The surrounding historic buildings form medieval street scenes, as if traveling through time and space back to the ancient Kingdom of Frankfurt. It is surrounded by the Duke Palace's main building and east-west flanks. The name of the Placeroyale was changed several times during the Valuarian Dynasty and now during World War II. It's 10 minutes'walk from the railway station.
