我們是從摩洛哥飛來突尼斯的，在突尼斯遊覽参觀的第一個景點是著名的歷史古迹——迦太基古城遺址。這裏代表着地中海文明的誕生和文化特點。

迦太基古城最古老的部分,位於臨近海岸的比爾薩山下,這裏也是迦太基城的核心。在比爾薩山上,迦太基人曾建造了堅固的防禦工事,那裡的城牆長達3.4萬米、高13米、寬8米每隔60米就有一座瞭望塔。考古人經過發掘，發現這裏除了宮殿、住宅等建築遺迹依稀可辨外,還有很多石棺、隨葬品以及拜占庭時代的宮殿遺址。

突尼斯的加太基古城是世界上保存最為完好的古羅馬時期的城市遺址。這裡有着許多古建築的遺傳，包括斗獸場，古羅馬浴室，以及一些神殿遺址，氣勢非常的宏大，絕對是研究古羅馬歷史的最佳之地，值得來遊覽一番。

始建於公元前九世紀，曾是盛極一時的大城市，古時繁榮僅次於古羅馬及希臘，為昔日兵家必爭之地，現已列入世界文化遺產

Carthage was flattened by the Roman army, as the Senate insisted. In 122 BC, Rome rebuilt the city on the old site and made it the second largest city in China after Rome. In 698, it was completely destroyed by the Arab army.
