As soon as you come to the library and look up, you will find the blindfolded Greek mythology "Goddess of the Law" engraved on the front of the building, representing the scale of fairness and the sword of justice. This building was once used as the Court of Appeal, equivalent to today's High Court, and is now open to the general public as the "Sapporo City Library". The sculptures on the walls of the stone hill are the evidence of the Court of Appeal, which embodies the "principles of authority and justice of the law".
