There is no noise, no incense, only the sound of monks chanting sutras. Maple leaves are red, yellow oaks are bright, kingfishers contend. Many years ago, I saw Xie Jin's main film, The Bell of the Qingliang Temple, which is directed by Pu Cunxin. My memory is still fresh. On this trip to Kyoto, Qingliang Temple is the most desirable place to travel before I came to Japan.
