Parliament Square is basically a square square square on a high slope on the south coast of Helsinki, covered with ancient stone pavement. In the center are bronze statues and flower beds of Czar Alexander II. The heights above the hundred steps on the north side are white main body and the Helsinki Cathedral with a pale green bronze dome; the government residence on the east side and the main building of the University of Helsinki on the West side. There is little difference in appearance between the two. Looking closely at the top of the government residence, there is a clock. The front door is curved above the first floor, while the university is parallel. Parliament Square also has Helsinki's accompanying sightseeing bus stop. Not far south is the open-air free market. This is the center of Helsinki's culture, politics and entertainment.
