蛇道是通往佩特拉古城的一條峽谷，因其蜿蜒而狹長而成為“蛇道”。這裏最窄的地方僅能通過自駕馬車，稍微寬的地方也不過幾米的樣子。蛇道兩邊的崖壁色彩鮮艷，最深印象就是臨近卡茲尼神廟時，穿過最狹窄的蛇道，一縷陽光照在卡茲尼神廟的崖壁上，那一瞬間讓人感動到流淚。

去往佩特拉古城，必須經過一條長達1.5公里的峽谷，這實際上是高大的岩石山體之間的一條縫隙，非常狹窄，當地人稱它為蛇道，感嘆大自然的鬼斧神工。如今為了方便遊客進出，這條蛇道的大部分路面已經修葺平整。

Petra Ancient City is Jordan's only successful site for heritage application.
