If you are keen to learn and appreciate artwork, would definitely recommend; if you are not, it might be a bit boring. Before going to the Uffizi Gallery, I would recommend you to study some basic historical and cultural background of Italy and Florence so that you can have a better understanding and visual experience in the gallery. Enjoy!
IMO you can’t go to Italy without going to see some art, and if you’re in Florence you need to visit the Uffizi. What Italian Renaissance master do you want to see? Raphael? Da Vinci? Michelangelo? Botticelli? There are several pieces by each and many more. The hallways have sculptures and more paintings, it’s almost overwhelming. Get the 5 day pass and see the Pitti Palace (more art) and Boboli Gardens.
