Victoria Harbour is a port and sea area between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Peninsula in Hong Kong, starting from Carp Gate in the East and from Tsing Yi Island to Hong Kong Island in the west. Because of its vast and deep waters, Hong Kong is also known as the Pearl of the East and the Three Nightscapes of the World. The name of Victoria Harbour is from Queen Victoria of England. Victoria Harbour has a wide water surface and attractive scenery. In the northwestern part of the harbour, there is "Kwai Chung Container Terminal" which is one of the largest container transportation centers in the world. Victoria Harbour dominates Hong Kong's economic and tourism development and is one of the key factors for Hong Kong to become an international metropolis.
