Burmese style, built by Shans. These Shans came to Chiang Mai in 1883 to trade timber with the British. They wanted to have their own holy place to worship Buddha, so they built the temple. The temple is surrounded by sunken gardens, including a brick-and-cement Buddhist pagoda and a recently built monastery.
