Fuzhou has been nicknamed "Sanshan" since ancient times. Wushan is one of the three mountains, also known as Wushishan, Shewushan, a city center, and Yushan, Pingshan tripod. According to legend, the Nine Immortals of He clan in the Han Dynasty climbed Wushan to win the victory on Chongyang Festival and attracted the bow to shoot Wushan, so they were also called "Shewushan". In the eighth year of Tang Tianbao (749), Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty was named Minshan. During the reign of Xining in the Song Dynasty, Meng Meng, the county guard, changed his name to "Daoshan" in comparison with Penglai, Abbot and Yingzhou.
