The Hanjiang cruise ship has begun! The Hanhe River and its surrounding areas have an important position in the history of Korea. During the Three Kingdoms Period, countries tried to control the land because the rivers here were used as trade routes to China (via the Yellow Sea). However, at present, the Hanjiang River is no longer actively used for navigation purposes, because its estuary is located on the Korean-Korean border, so no civilians are allowed to enter. South Koreans had feared that North Korea might attack dams on the upper reaches of the Hanjiang River and cause floods to destroy Seoul, although so far none has happened.
