紫竹林是普陀山下的一個不太有名的景觀，據說觀音娘娘曾在這裏指白石，化為紫竹林。紫竹林就是因為這片紫竹林成為了有名的景點，其實來這裏，吹吹海風，閑聊還是不錯的選擇

紫竹林座落在浙江省舟山市普陀山風景名勝區內，鄰近不肯去觀音院和南海觀音立像。一片竹林的顏色呈現紫色，故稱為紫竹林，是普陀山主要的景點之一。

普陀山觀光車紫竹林這一站其實就通到南海觀音，要走過去七八百米，中間還經過一兩個景點，南海觀音人特別多，佛像看上去並不是特別高的，因為靠着海景觀不錯。
