Eating a meal in Piazza Navona with the fountains splashing right by the restaurant in the cool of the evening relaxing - does it get any better? The restaurant was virtually full and still the waiters, maitre d' and guy pulling people in were relaxed and charming. The wine selection was basic but that's fine for one visit and it was reasonably priced. The food was fine. Nice Italian food well presented by friendly staff in a fantastic location. This is not for gourmets but for ordinary folk sharing a piece of heaven we enjoyed it a lot.
Against our better judgement we dropped into this restaurant knowing it would be very expensive for what is offered, but figuring the location was worth it. Not so! Waiter was very offhand and uninterested plus joked he would only speak Italian to us. Maybe he should find another job since the majority of his clients are English speaking. We had a veggie pizza to split and it was pretty much the worst pizza I've experienced in Rome. Luke warm and tasteless. Maybe it was just an off day for the restaurant and our waiter but next time we'll pass on the overpriced offerings on the piazza and turn the corner to smaller, much better places.
We ended up there while walking along Piazza Navona. Terrible food, the pizza was made with frozen crust and looked disgusting. I also ordered minestrone soup which was so salty and inedible. It's disgraceful to serve such food to tourists in such a nice location. Prices are super high for such garbage. Avoid
