Go on a weekend and check out the amazing views of Little Italy and the bay from the roof deck!
I got to watch the sunset from the top of the institute witch I fell in love with. Also watched a presentation on how to set up an art experiment of sorts. It was based in New York and we got to see how the project effected the community. I also snuck around to look in the classrooms which blew my mind. The art work made by the students was amazing! Beautiful campus and beautiful people!
This place is cool... if it's the place I'm thinking about. Weird huge surreal concrete building... but with a pretty cool layout... and an AMAZING view of San Francisco. How did the Art Institute score such a cool piece of land? No clue. But you can peer down through some post-apocalyptic floor/ceiling viewports into the studios and check out all the cool stuff the kids these days are doing. or look through their cafeteria. Or just check out the view of San Francisco. Your call.
This is one of the old private art schools on the West Coast. It has a long history of reknowned alums and faculty. Their administration is a bit of a mess, but what private art college has this part figured out? There are some great faculty here and some duds too. If you come here for an education, be sure to work with the best faculty like Sharon Grace, and Regan Louie to name a couple. The school has a more conceptual / new genres focus.
