I enjoy driving over this bridge. Though the lions are rather hard to spot so walking is much better.
The most beautiful bridge all over the mainland despite the awful traffic
Lions Gate Bridge is one of the most treasured historical landmarks of Vancouver. The suspension bridge connects downtown Vancouver city with its mountain-filled sibling - North Vancouver and is a piece of true architecture art. The view of the Lions Gate Bridge from both under - at the Seawall trail and above - at Prospect point are equally as gorgeous and breathtaking. The bridge is constructed with reversible lanes which accommodates for traffic patterns. The drive across the bridge offers an absolutely beautiful view of the ocean and the two cities.
Nice bridge. Can be viewed from Prospect Point of from the beach below. Looks really nice at night when it is lit up. Wanted to take pictures of the bridge but couldn't manage it with lack of time. I heard from a tour guide that it is the same size as the Golden Gate in SF which seemed surprising to me. The very cool feature of the bridge is the traffic pattern change. Depending on the traffic and the time of the day I guess, they change one side to have more # of lanes than the other. It is all done very seamlessly. Drove over the bridge a few times and you should definitely check it out if in Vancouver.
Important bridge and access to the west north Vancouver in Stanley Park and way to some other parks.
