beautiful palace, lotsnif history to seenin Vienna. a mist see if anyone is in town.
Hofburg Palace complex has a great architectural features. It includes museums, chapel, church, the Austrian National Library, The Spanish Riding School, imperial apartments, halls of Imperial Treasury, gardens and squares. Great place to spend time on with your camera clicking!
it is really a beautiful building. People meets in the garden in front of it, sitting down on the grass with a sandwich or a book. The Palace has housed some of the most powerful people in European and Austrian history, including the Habsburg dynasty. It currently serves as the official residence of the President of Austria. It was the Habsburgs' principal winter residence.
The Hofburg Imperial Palace is a MASSIVE palace ground that sits just behind the Museum Quarter. It houses the Spanish Riding School, Heldenplatz, Michaelerplatz, Kunsthistorisches Museum and Naturhistorisches Museum, and the Imperial Stables (and that's not all, just some). You can't really miss it. We didn't actually go inside, as we had limited time, but seeing the grounds is quite a lot.
Beautiful! The complex of palaces, chapels, and so forth that make up the Hofburg should definitely be a major stop on any trip to Vienna. Do not skip the National Library! Be sure to see as much of its lovely exteriors as possible, although it's quite a walk around the place. One of my favorites in the city.
