A friend and I visited to see a live band. The atmosphere was fantastic as was the performance. We sat in the top back row and you could see the band, everything happening on the floor and the entrance. For me, it was the best place to sit. It was first come, first serve as far as seat selection. I was hungry and ask the server for suggestions. He suggested the grilled cheese made the way the employees make it with bacon and some other sauce paired with the tomato soup. It was to die for!! It will be a reorder when I return.
great place to go if you like indie clubs. I enjoyed a very fun show by Easy All Stars reggae band. The beers on draft have a great variety. Not so crowded. Service sympathic. i recommend tip : it is difficult to ger a cab in front of aftwr the show. You can walk some mts and get in the "shopping"
Two venues in one. A bit of country in one and a bit of blues/folk in the other. Neither are really to my taste but as a performer myself I can see that these are great spaces. Drinks are well priced but I didn't try any food so can't say. A lot of area venues start at 10 which is a bit late for me, Gypsy Sally start at 8 which is somewhat more convenient. Taxis are not common on Water St so you'll need to walk up to M to get one home.
Really cool spot to catch some live music. Didn't eat here, so can't comment on the food, but drinks were fine and reasonably priced for DC.
