特里卡拉堡建於拜占庭時期，它始建於6世紀，於17世紀重修並在裏面曾設了一個鐘樓，1936年又增加了一個鐘樓。在城堡附近的咖啡廳可以俯瞰整個特里卡拉城區。

A beautiful and well preserved site
The castle has a wooden walkway surrounding it. It is an uncommon and very beautiful feature that allows one to stroll by the fort walls without climbing the steep sides. Really liked it!
