The stage play "Spirited Away" sinceSince its world premiere at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo in March 2022, this production has created a global sensation and has been eagerly anticipated by theater fans in China. Over its three-year run, the show has toured Japan twice, visiting Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo in Hokkaido, and Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture, with tickets selling out instantly in every city. In 2024, it made its debut at London's Coliseum Theatre in the West End. The London performances marked the largest-scale overseas production of a Japanese-language stage play in Japan's theatrical history, and the first time Toho Theatre Company has organized such a major overseas activity. The London Coliseum, one of the largest theaters in the West End with approximately 2,300 seats, hosted 135 sold-out performances of the stage adaptation of "Spirited Away," attracting around 300,000 audience members during its run.
 
This China premiere tour of the stage play "Spirited Away" is jointly presented by Shanghai Machi Arts & Culture Communication Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Culture Square Theater Management Co., Ltd. It will become the largest-scale Japanese-language original production in China, bringing thisShanghai rendezvous in 2025.
 
As the production company of the play, Toho has extensive experience in overseas performance collaborations, primarily staging productions with local actors and in local languages.in 1972London,1973 in Los AngelesThe musical "Gone with the Wind" (written by Kazuo Kikuta, originally titled "Scarlett") was performed on the pier, followed by "Roman Holiday" and "Mary."Works such as "Antoinette," "Elizabeth," and "Your Lie in April" have also been produced and performed by local theater companies in South Korea and other regions.
 
Breaking new ground, the Japanese creative team will present this stage play in Japanese in China following their London performance, marking a fresh challenge for Toho.

This performance, first editionThe role of "Chihiro" will be jointly portrayed by renowned Japanese actress Kanna Hashimoto and Momoko Fukuchi, who made a striking debut in 2024. The original live band that delivered stunning performances during previous tours will also make a full appearance in the Shanghai production, bringing audiences the authentic "Spirited Away" experience.

Stage Play "Spirited Away" Introduction
The stage play "Spirited Away" is adapted from the popular animated film directed by Hayao Miyazaki, telling the story ofThe story follows 10-year-old Chihiro as she accidentally enters a spirit world, strives to rescue her parents who have been turned into pigs, and rediscovers her own vitality through this journey of growth.
 
The play premiered onDebuting in 2022 as part of Toho's 90th-anniversary commemorative performances, this production was adapted and directed by John Caird, Honorary Associate Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Known for his work on the musical masterpiece *Les Misérables* as well as theater classics like *The Knight's Tale* and *Daddy Long Legs*, Caird brings cinematic characters to life on stage. The immersive theatrical experience is heightened by the dynamic energy unique to live performances. The production achieved remarkable acclaim, winning the prestigious "47th Kikuta Kazuo Theater Award" for outstanding achievement in popular theater.
 
In 2023, the play was restaged at Nagoya's Misonoza Theater. Starting in March 2024, it embarked on a nationwide tour beginning at Tokyo's Imperial Theatre, performing at venues including Nagoya's Misonoza Theater, Fukuoka's Hakataza Theater, Osaka's Umeda Arts Theater Main Hall, and Sapporo's Hitaru Cultural Arts Theater in Hokkaido. From April to August, it also made its first overseas performance at London's Coliseum Theatre in the West End.

Shanghai Cultural Plaza, located at the intersection of Fuxing Middle Road and South Shaanxi Road, is a new venue that has been redesigned and remodeled. It is now the largest sinking theater in China. The main theater is equipped with a framed stage, equipped with a water platform, an ice platform and a music pool. The lighting and audio equipment are also extremely advanced. The view from the tower is amazing and do go just before dusk so that you get to enjoy the beautiful sunset views and the night view of Shanghai City.  The lower level where a portion is covered in glass walk around was amazing. Quite an experience, felt like walking on thin glass above Shanghai.  The buffet dinner at the revolving restaurant turned out to be disappointing. While there seem to be a great variety of food, they were not really tasty.  The crabs were not fresh. Definitely could be better and improved on.

The procrastination patient finally made up the comments before the end of the Egyptian exhibition.
