WHAT IS BREAKTHROUGH?
 A full-day art-based workshop designed to build the clarity and confidence to grow or pivot your enterprise plan through visual thinking.
 
Discussions will consider emerging trends, drivers, economic theories, and sub-altern business practices for inspiration and new ideas.
WHO 
- This full-day session is for enterprise founders who are looking to develop an idea further or create an actionable, clear business plan through a creative approach. This workshop will help those wanting to pivot their business in response to uncertain times or founders who want to work with others to untangle the “mess”. This experience will motivate you to find a new throughline for complex, multi-nodal innovative enterprise concepts.
WHY 
- 
In entrepreneurship training, most spaces rely on design and insight frameworks: tables, four-by-four boxes or spreadsheets. Founders often struggle with clarity, stuckness or confusion using these models.

Breakthrough 
approach
 
is a new way forward, using drawing and visual production to engage more areas of the brain, helping us see, articulate, and communicate complex ideas more clearly and quickly. Moreover, strategic visuals cognitively stimulate key concepts, making them more memorable.
HOW 
-
 
You will engage in creative problem solving, hands-on making and collaborative community activities to build and develop the vision for your business. You will work towards a visual, art-based business plan while sharing your ideas, brainstorming, and processing challenges with others. Throughout the workshop activities, you will work to interrogate your assumptions about your business through creative problem-solving.

Tuesday, July 8th, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a catered lunch, refreshments and snacks.
WHERE
 
- 129 Tecumseth Street. This interactive, creativity-based workshop will be held in the inspiring and elegant space at 
United Contemporary Gallery
 in the King West Village. The workshop will include a stimulating exhibition tour to spark ideas and provide an exhilarating space for new ideas.
FACILITATORS
pk mutch
 is a serial, award-winning Canadian social/eco entrepreneur, university educator, startup curriculum designer, writer/journalist and indie publishing professional. She is on a mission to share how post-growth economics thinking, plus feminist theory, practice, and research insights, can help you. Using these frameworks she shows you how to radically transform how you design, grow, govern, resource and manage your venture (for profit, nonprofit, cooperative, collective, project) in ways that can help you not only “be the revolution” but also lead and most importantly, accelerate the change.
Natalie Kauffman
 is an Artist Educator who holds a Master of Arts in Education (Arts Specialization) from OISE at the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University. She currently serves as the Education Director at Blank Canvases, where she has trained teachers in the Ontario Ministry Visual Arts Curriculum for both the Public and Catholic boards. Kauffman is an instructor in the BFA program at OCAD U and has contributed to the curriculum at prominent institutions such as Harbourfront Centre, The Royal Conservatory, Station Gallery, and MTM College. With a career rooted in community-engaged programming, her educational design emphasizes connection and inclusion through creativity.
Ilene Sova
 is an Award-winning Artist, Professor, & Program Director offering 15+ years of developing, governing, and advancing programs for renowned organisations and institutions such as the City of Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Harbourfront Centre and OCAD University. An entrepreneur herself, she is the founder of Blank Canvases and the Feminist Art Collective, arts programs that deliver programs across the GTA through strategic partnerships in both the public and private sectors. She is recognized as an influential relationship builder who gains consensus amongst external partners and key decision-makers to launch community-driven projects
