Presented as part of the Director's Lecture series at the Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Society, this performance lecture offers a unique opportunity to delve into the groundbreaking choreography of Kyle Abraham. 

As the artistic director of A.I.M. by Kyle Abraham, Abraham's mission is to create a body of dance-based work that is fueled by the richness of Black culture and history. Collaborating with artists from diverse disciplines, A.I.M. intertwines a sensual and thought-provoking vocabulary with music, text, video, and visual art. Drawing inspiration from various sources and movement styles, Abraham's artistic vision shines through in A.I.M's creations.

Recognized for his exceptional talent, Abraham has been honored with numerous awards and accolades, including the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship in 2013, the Princess Grace Statue Award in 2018, and the Doris Duke Award in 2016. With a strong educational background in dance, including a BFA from SUNY Purchase and an MFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Abraham has also served as a visiting professor at UCLA's World Arts Cultures in Dance program and is currently the Claude and Alfred Mann Endowed Professorship in Dance at The University of Southern California Glorya Kaufman School of Dance.
