I wouldn't guve this hotel 5 stars. The room was so dark even with all the lights on, the bed sheets were dirty (see photo), the toilet smelled so bad I had to open all the windows in the room and the smell still didn't go away, the water in the shower was pooling, and there is no place to hang towels in the bathroom. The hand towels are behind the bathtub, which is very inconvenient (see photo) and I had to place the towel on the bed. The chairs were dirty, and the room overall felt old. The hair dryer was also barely blowing any air. However, I really liked the nice staff who spoke English and helped me with recommendations. The room service was also good. I also liked how they had full size shampoos and soaps. But other than these, the hotel did not feel like 5 stars.

We are very delighted staying in Dekin Hotel. The evening mgr ( Chris Chang? ) has helped us a lot with our inquiries. He found out the place to repair our luggages, he made the booking for PIPAYUAN the largest restaurant in the world, he fulfilled all our request with a smile. Overall the location, the cleanliness, the service and the atmosphere of Dekin Hotel is exceeding my expectations. For me one of the most aspect of an excellent hotel is the water pressure in the shower. After a tiring hot sightseeing day, it’s very soothing to take a hot and cold shower with abundant water.

Grateful for the suite upgrade! My stay at Hotel Dekin was pretty amazing - the room was spacious and the service was friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel was also great, located in the Jiefangbei area with a clear driveway for car or tour bus pick-ups. My one grouse was that the room smelt quite musky (perhaps due to the age of the rooms or the carpeting), though the staff were attentive and quick in addressing this by spraying room deodorant whenever cleaning the room / requested. All in all, would recommend staying at this well upkept and located hotel (:
