There is good location and service. Especially I like breakfast, is some fruits, bread, egg, and tea.

Very unpolite guy who let us check out before the time written on booking. Com No internet connection and in the room was very very humid, whit a bad smell. I don't rekon to anyone I'm sure is full of better place then this one.

we always stay at Hiliki when we go to Zanzibar, it's good value, comfortable, good location and very nice staff. Delicious breakfast and the team can organise fair price excursions. Definitely recommend if you're passing a few days in stone Town.

PLEASE BE AWARE. This place overbooks clients so when you arrive they say there is NO reservation under your name. Then they send you to another location of much lower quality. People at the new location confirmed that they do this all the time. It is not a mistake but rather a scam. I left that second location and was lucky to find a nice hotel nearby for the same price. I did get a refund but most people will probably stay where they are forced to stay due to lack of options and uncertainty. I strongly recommend not staying at the Hiliki House.

A very nice place staying right next to old stonetown and walkingdistance to beach and old fortress. The breakfast is totaly OK, building and room spotless and everything to a very reasonable price.

The hotel is located very close to the historical city center only 10min away from the beach. The hotel itself is clean and has a old Zanzibari atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful, IF they are present - morning receptionist hardly present, so you can not inform yourself in case of anything - Breakfast is basic but good! A very friendly lady arranges your breakfast, however it takes half an hour plus if you are with more than two persons in the breakfast area - When, like us, you want to book the room with the bathroom on the other side of the hall be aware that fellow guests (and even people from outside) use your bathroom, even if they say the bathroom is only for you to use. The receptionists just allow this and do not inform other guests. But if you have no problem with a stranger depositing a big load before you go for your shower, this room is perfect for you! - Please check with other taxi driver (private hire) in the city center before you book at the hotel. The hotel will not search for the best price for you. The difference can be quite big (up to 10 USD). - WiFi connection only functioning (not more than 5 mbps) at the reception desk, and drops dramatically when staff uses the WiFi Nevertheless, we really enjoyed our stay in Stone Town and Hiliki house gave us a good start for our holiday!

It was a trip to past. House maintained the architecture and decor of 1900s.

Go there!!!! The bedrooms are really nice. The owner is truly kind, very welcoming and he gave us good advices on what to do around. Breakfast perfect! I warmly recommend it!!! Thank you again for your welcome

NO CLEAR AND HONEST INFO ON THEIR BOOKING HOTEL SITE. We booked a double bed and we were given a pair of single beds. Then we were asked to pay an extra 3% fee to pay by credit card (was not mentioned on site). They informed us, the wifi was not available in the bedrooms, only in public areas. We tried to politely negotiate as we were mis-sold and after an hour long conversation, the owner said there was no longer room available... When we have already put card details in *********** to reserve the booking, and the confirmation was done. I DO NOT RECCOMEND TO ANYONE. DISRESPECTFUL, DISHONEST. SCAM.

Der Zustand der Zimmer entspricht in kleinster Weise den Bildern. Es gibt Schimmel im Zimmer, unsere Wäsche hat für den Rest des Urlaubs gestunken. Wir verstehen wirklich nicht, warum diese Unterkunft insgesamt noch so gut bewertet ist - es ist komplett heruntergekommen. Achtung: Bezahlen Sie auf keinen Fall vor Ort bzw. lassen Sie sich in jedem Fall eine Quittung ausstellen. Nachdem wir vor Ort bezahlt haben, wurde zusätzlich unsere VISA Karte belastet. Das Management der Unterkunft verhält sich höchst unkooperativ und unfreundlich. Fahren Sie besser direkt in einen anderen Teil der Insel.

Hatten Schimmel an der Wand, ein sehr wakeliges Bett, in welchem ich mit 1.84m nicht ausgestreckt liegen konnte und ein mittelmäßiges Frühstück. Die Rezeption ist nett und es ist ruhig. WLAN funktionierte nur an der Rezeption. Im Zimmer kam nicht viel Signal an.

Ich hatte online mit *********** gebucht und als ich einchecken wollte, sagte man mir, das Zimmer sei nicht verfügbar aber man könne mir ein anderes in einem anderen Haus zum gleichen Preis anbieten. Ich musste mein Gepäck durch die sengende Hitze alleine dort hin schleppen, nur um dort dann in ein völlig heruntergekommenes Haus geführt zu werden. Sehr intensive künstliche Duftmittel konnten leider den Schimmelgeruch nicht überdecken. Das Zimmer selbst war muffig, sehr klein, schäbig möbliert, mit einer Duschkabine direkt im Zimmer neben dem Bett. Aus der Dusche kam kein Wasser und der ganze Eindruck war einfach nur deprimierend. Der Mitarbeiter wurde dort übrigens von teils wütenden Gästen empfangen die sich z.B. über nicht funktionierendes fließendes Wasser / nicht funktionstüchtige Dusche beschwerten, was der Mitarbeiter mit Sarkasmus abtat. Da dieses Zimmer rein gar nichts mit den schicken Fotos vom Hiliki House gemeinsam hatte, habe ich es abgelehnt, was offenbar auch auf Verständnis stieß. Es wurde mir gesagt, dass man Buchungen über *********** generell nicht als verbindlich ansehe, vor allem nicht wenn als Bezahlmethode "Zahlung vor Ort" gewählt wurde, auch nicht, wenn die Buchung mit der Kreditkarte garantiert wurde und nicht stornierbar ist - somit sei ich selbst Schuld. Das Beste aber - trotzdem ich die Ersatzunterkunft abgelehnt hatte, wurde offenbar später noch zwei mal vom Hotel versucht, Geld von meiner Kreditkarte abzubuchen.
