Room was a good size. Plenty of parking available. Swimming pool was nice. Nice view of the lake from the gardens. Very friendly staff. Lovely food. Pleasant gardens. The lounge was relaxing with nice sofa .
Some minor issues:
Lack of shower pressure ， toilet wouldn't flush properly, blood stain on the floor of the toilet, took ages to get hot water through for showering

Lovely hotel, we arrived in a blizzard and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, especially the manager who did a great job coping with stranded customers and a foot of snow

The swimming pool was great but the dinner menu was very dissapointing and the hotel location was too far from town to walk for dinner in the evening

A beautiful property. Everything is very clean and location very good. Service staff also very friendly, makes you come back and order more. We took a bigger room as had luggage for comfort. Everything went well. Very close to a hike trail with nice top views of Windermere lake

Really pleasant stay. Good base to explore Windermere and the surrounding areas. A little dated and rough around the edges, but full of character and staff were very friendly and helpful.

What we paid for was a 5 star amount and got 2 star. the photo's of the rooms were not as we got, they must have been taken 20 years aging and run down.
The staff were friendly enough but dressed very poorly for such a so called nice hotel. will not go there again .

Hotel was ideal for our couple of nights away, by the lake and not far from restaurants and bars. Boat hire is about a mile but its a nice walk. Friendly staff always greeted with a smile.

We had a great stay here. So well-designed for families with dogs (amongst others) the pool was a win for the kids and a lot of thought has gone into making staying with a dog convenient and comfortable.
Breakfast is included which we all appreciated and had a good range of options. Restaurant menu is broad and quality is fine - I think what you would expect for functional hotel/pub restaurant.
Staff were friendly and efficient throughout.

A complete rip off for the money! £180 a night for a small double bed. Horrible sponge pillows, uncomfortable bed, creaky floorboards and decor that’s very tired and dated!

Expensive but think Lakes are. Hotel very nice overall. Young manager who had been there for 3 months was excellent.
Room was lovely large room with v comfortable king bed and sofa bed pkus balcony. Bathroom spacious well equipped except for shower. Which was ok but not great. Shower Curtain coukd have don with a clean at bottom or replaced.
Breakfast was self service so very cost effective for hotel costs.. you basically did everything. But food good .
Lovely well kept gardens. Didnt use pool. Day rooms very nice. The hotel allows pets so many dogs there. Its on a hill.. bit too far to walk into Bowness but think Windermere you can walk to

I stayed at this property with my 6 year old daughter for two nights while we did a ‘Mummy & Daughter’ trip. I have quite high standards and enjoy a bit of luxury.
The hotel room was a decent size and clean despite being very simple. Mattress was not comfy (two defined dips), bathroom was large and several windows provided fresh air.
Breakfast was ok - a couple of choices of cereal, toast and full English selection. Dinner was also ok but nothing fresh - curry, burger, sausage/mash etc.
Location excellent and plenty of parking - you can walk to town and there are many restaurant options there (I recommend Tilly’s which even served freshly cooked broccoli - those of you with children will know how hard it is to find a restaurant serving plain vegetables!)
Staff ok - welcoming reception but waiters few and far between and lacking charm.
Pool ok - clean and accessible with free towels but way too hot. Like a bath.
Overall good enough value for money and delivers an ok experience.
