The rooms and the hotel itself are a bit old, but they are kept quite clean. The location is excellent. Downstairs, you'll find Gaohashi Red Square, making it convenient for dining and movies. Across the street is Gaohashi Park, which has a nice environment. There are also some play facilities for children in the park, so it's a good option if you're traveling with kids. Additionally, the hotel is very close to Gaohashi Old Street; if you have time, you can go there to see traditional velvet embroidery and try some local specialty pancakes.
Overall, I'm satisfied. I chose this place because it's close to the subway and convenient for Shanghai South Railway Station. I stayed one night, and it was generally good. I have a few suggestions: First, the bidet spray on the smart toilet is practically useless; it should be repaired or replaced. Second, the shower water pressure is just average. Third, the room was a bit small and felt cramped, which might be due to the room type I selected. Fourth, the breakfast live cooking station lacked noodle dishes, only offering fried eggs. I hope the hotel can provide even better service to its guests.
When going to visit Lingang, the hotels near Haichang Park and Ice and Snow World were a little more expensive, so I chose Kaiyuan Hotel. The hotel is suitable for self-driving. Public transportation is not very convenient, so it is recommended to drive there. The interior of the hotel is very large, you can take a walk, and there are colorful fountains to watch at night. The guest room is very clean. I heard that the hotel has been open for many years but the hardware of the room is still very good. The noodles and wontons for breakfast are great, and there are many other varieties. I will choose Kaiyuan next time I have the chance.
Great services… very attentive front desk team. Always willing to help and support wherever you needs. They also great in telling you whatever you needs like to shop eat go visits massages hair cuts take a ride cycle etc… overall just a great team of people from the hotel….
The front desk staff was enthusiastic. They not only helped collect the parcels, but also took the initiative to provide scissors and other tools. They took good care of us and our children. Thank you very much! We had a lot of luggage with our children, and the gentleman at the concierge took the initiative to help transport the luggage. The breakfast was very rich. It is very convenient to go to Hongqiao Railway Station. I will stay here again next time.
We had a pleasant stay. They allowed us to check in early which was a blessing for us after the long road trip. The front desk staff served us quick and friendly and spoke english as well. The room was clean and spacious, modern design. It was a loft room of two 2 queen beds, 2 TV’s, 1 bathroom, a 2 door refrigerator, small washing machine, and complete iron with table and hairdryer, it has a balcony, a small kitchen with a electric stove, complete modern utensils, plate, glass, spoons, water jug, microwave, frypan, steamed pan and even a dish foam was provided. It was located a little bit far from the city center of shanghai, but you can conveniently commute with the metro line 7, the station can be found under the mall, the right building across the hotel, the same building where we can park our car for free as our duration of our stay. On the mall basement, plenty of restaurants can be found and not packed at all, also you find a 24hrs seven eleven store in front of the hotel. The downside was the bathroom door was a bit hard to closed, everything else was perfect. We would like to stay again when visiting shanghai.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport
On this return flight, anyone with a JCB card from any bank can use the VIP Lounge Gate 170. Anyone who has time before boarding, I highly recommend it. 💺 This place is in the International Departure zone – Terminal 1. Follow the signs “VIP Lounge 170”. You won’t get lost from Terminal S2. The entrance is at Gate 83. ☁️ The overall atmosphere, as soon as you enter, feels like taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the airport. The chairs are very soft. There are reclining sofa zones, work desk zones, and zones with a view of the airplanes outside. 🛬 There are power outlets at every seat. No need to compete to charge. It’s perfect for both relaxation and work. 🍜 There are a lot of food corners. There’s a huge variety. • Hot Chinese food such as dumplings, soup, and dim sum • Bakery, bread, fruit, and desserts • Complete drinks menu including tea, fresh coffee, soft drinks, beer, and juices 🧼 There are shower rooms for people on connecting flights or long flights. (You can inform the counter staff.) 🚿The restrooms are very clean. ✨
✈️To return to Terminal 2, follow the signs for T2.

REN HE GUAN
This is one of the most delicious meals i’ve had in Shanghai!! As a michelin starred restaurant, the food is very reasonably priced, for all the food we’ve had (the food pictured, more than is enough for 7 pax) is only approximately ¥200 per head.
This includes the whole sweet and sour deep fried fish, a whole portion of the crab roe rice, 3 pieces of hairy crab and suzhou style braised pork belly Dong Po Rou
All of the dishes go super well with rice, and their glutinous rice balls cooked in wine is also super tangy and tasty!
I would highly recommend everyone checking it out!
Tip: make a reservation ahead of your travel to ensure you can secure seats, otherwise they also have a noodle shop that is more casual and does walk in as well as the signature crab roe noodle

Shanghai Wild Animal Park
If you're planning a trip to Shanghai, make sure to include Shanghai Wildlife Park in your itinerary. We've visited many zoos in Russia and Europe, but this park is the best I've ever been to.
Tip: Arrive right at the opening time—fewer people, no school excursions, and you can explore everything at your own pace.
We immediately purchased a package ticket: an attraction (which we skipped), lunch, and a bus ride through the inner area with wild animals. The bus ticket is purchased inside the park. The staff at the ticket counters were very helpful—everything was processed quickly and with a friendly attitude.
The bus ride is impressive: animals come very close, sometimes from the "wrong" side, so be prepared to stand up to take photos.
My absolute favorite—red pandas. There's about a one-and-a-half-hour queue to their enclosure, and you need to buy apples to feed them, but it's the best animal interaction experience I've ever had. However, I'm not sure if they accept UnionPay or cash—Alipay or WeChat Pay definitely work. I also marked on the map where the red pandas and lemurs are located.
Another must-visit is the lemur island. They roam freely there, not in a closed enclosure. We couldn't figure out where to get food for them. The lemurs were clearly looking for something in our hands, but even without that, they are very cute, calm, and allow you to take photos and interact with them.
About food: we ate at the tiger restaurant, which was included in our package. Bolognese—👍🏻, chicken with rice—👎🏻 (too many bones and skin—not quite what Europeans are used to). We arrived at 11:00—there were almost no people, but by 12:00, it was fully occupied.
The itinerary that worked for us:
🔸 Arrive at opening time
🔸 Bus ride with wild animals
🔸 Early lunch
🔸 Pandas and lemurs
Keep in mind: the queue for the red pandas is long, so it might be worth heading there first.
The park is huge, but everything is clear and convenient. We managed to do everything we wanted in half a day.
Xintiandi
🗺️🗺️ [Travel Plan]
Day 1: Have breakfast at the popular Dugout coffee shop, stroll along The Bund, and then visit Jing'an Temple. We traveled entirely by Amap. In the evening, we walked in for a meal. (Long time ago)
Day 2: Disney Shanghai: I went on my birthday, so don't forget to get your birthday pin. For those who wake up late, grab a bite to eat. First, head to a popular Thai restaurant for their signature dish, pickled cabbage fish soup. Then, don't forget to try Ama's milk tea inside. They say the wait isn't as long as at the branch outside. After eating, we went for rides without buying any passes. We managed to get three: Tron, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Zootopia. Then, we waited for the fireworks. Perfect for those who don't plan on riding too many rides. Just the right amount of tired, but not too tired.
Day 3: Wake up and try the world's largest Starbucks. Stroll around Xintiandi for crab fat noodles. Then, hunt for Hay Tea. In the evening, we'll have hot pot.
Day 4: Wake up and stroll around The Bund. Visit a coffee shop near the water for photos. Stroll along Nanjing Road.
Day 5: Head back to Thailand. We stayed at the JI Hotel for all four nights. It's convenient, but we chose the wrong branch. It's a bit far. When booking, we recommend going to the Bund branch. It's probably closest.
