This summer, Disney Cruise Line launched its first-ever European itineraries! We hopped on the 4-day, 3-night "Southampton to Zeebrugge" sailing – here’s our full review with practical tips for families and Disney fans.
📅 Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Embarkation at Southampton
Day 2: Zeebrugge (Belgium)
Day 3: Day at Sea
Day 4: Disembark at Southampton
🚢 Embarkation Day – A Grand Start
Arrive early if you can – boarding starts from 12 PM. Guests boarding before 2 PM can head straight to the buffet on the pool deck for lunch.
Be prepared for a magical welcome: crew members announce each family by name as you step onboard. “Welcome, the [Your Surname] family!” – a lovely touch that sets the tone!
Zeebrugge Port Day – Easy DIY Trip to Bruges
Disney provides a complimentary shuttle to Blankenberge Station. No need to spend on taxis or local transport!
We highly recommend taking the train to Bruges (approx. 15 mins). The city is compact, picturesque and perfect for a half-day visit.
Wander through cobbled streets, explore chocolate shops, and enjoy the beautiful canals.
⚓ Day at Sea – Pools, Slides & Chill
The ship does sway a bit more on sea days, but those prone to motion sickness (like me!) found it manageable.
Don’t miss the AquaDuck – Donald’s watery slide! Great fun for kids and adults.
🧥 Pack a jacket or windbreaker if you plan to stay on the upper decks – it gets breezy!
🧳 Disembarkation – Smooth & Well-Organised
Breakfast is served from 6:45 AM to 8:30 AM.
You have two luggage options:
Leave your bags outside your cabin by midnight – Disney will take them down for you
Carry them off yourself if you prefer (helpful if you have wet swimwear or a late packer).
All guests are requested to disembark by 9:40 AM.
