This time, I'm recommending Sapporo Round 1 Stadium – it's absolutely amazing! The stadium has roller coasters, go-karts, motorcycle racing, and tons of arcade games and various ball games, including basketball, soccer, baseball, and table tennis. The biggest surprises are the bullfighting machine, a huge ball pit, and a trampoline area; adults and kids alike didn't want to leave! We went on a weekday afternoon and were surprised to find a special offer: two adults and one child for only $50 each – such a great deal! The venue is huge, and there's also karaoke and bowling (though these two activities are extra). Note that Round 1 is membership-only; if you want to get in quickly, I recommend downloading the app and registering beforehand to save time. It's about a 15-minute walk from the subway station, or a 3-minute bus ride from Sapporo Station. Sapporo Station offers a free shuttle bus, making it very convenient. Plus, they're open almost 24 hours a day. If you don't have any plans for the evening and don't want to go back to your hotel, why not check this out? Located in the newly opened Cocono Susukino shopping mall in Sapporo, this sushi restaurant—Nemuro Hanamaru—is incredibly popular. By 6 PM, there's already a long queue! Once inside, you'll notice it's different from typical conveyor belt sushi places. The seafood is exceptionally fresh, especially the Hokkaido specialties. Despite the quality, the prices are very reasonable, starting at just 130 yen per plate! Even the fried dishes are delicious! Not only tourists but also many locals in Sapporo make a point to line up for this place. The restaurant does not take reservations; you need to get a number on-site, so long queues are the norm. It's recommended to arrive early to grab a number. While waiting, you can explore the Cocono mall, and return when your number is called. I waited almost an hour, but it was absolutely worth it! My trip to Hokkaido coincided with the tail end of the autumn foliage season, but unexpectedly, it snowed. When I woke up in the morning, the leaves were still golden, but a few hours later they were covered with a thin layer of snow, making the whole city feel like it had switched to another season. Walking on the street, you could feel how cold it was—very cold, almost frighteningly so. However, the air was clean, and slowing down made it easier to linger and appreciate the scenery. With autumn leaves and snow appearing in the same view, no amount of photos could capture it all. The food was particularly memorable: The curry soup was rich but not greasy, with a pronounced sweetness from the vegetables, and the chicken had a delicate, almost falling-off-the-bone texture. The miso ramen was different from what I've had in Taiwan; the miso was thick, warm, and had a very direct flavor—perfect for a cold day. The Genghis Khan barbecue was also delicious, and the cantaloupe was very sweet and I loved it. This trip wasn't packed with activities; I just strolled around the city, taking my time to explore. The autumn leaves at the Hoheikyo Dam in Jozankei were truly beautiful and serene. It was the first time in my life I'd seen trees growing on a rock face, their yellow, green, and red leaves like splashes of colorful paint on the mountainside—it was breathtaking.
