Kirstenbosch blew me away with its lush landscapes and mountain backdrop. It’s an ecosystem of its own with plants you cannot see in the wild in other places.
We visited in the protea season and it was incredible. The tree canopy walkway (“Boomslang”) is a highlight, and everything’s so peaceful.
Entry is R100. Tip: Pack a picnic and stay for the sunset.
Fun fact: It’s one of the world’s great botanical gardens, dedicated entirely to indigenous plants.

Iziko Bo-Kaap Museum
Cape Town is full of tourist attractions 🇿🇦.
Back in Cape Town city, the popular tourist spot "Bo-Kaap" is a great photo spot lined with charming houses. ✨ The colorful buildings are stylish. 😎✨
Bo-Kaap is home to many descendants of Cape Malays, a people who were once brought to the area by the Dutch as laborers from Asian and African countries like Malaysia and Indonesia. It's said to be a center of Cape Malay culture. ✨

Hiking Table Mountain was tough but rewarding. The views from the top were out of this world — you see the city, ocean, and beyond. We did the Platteklip Gorge route, steep but direct. There are lots of people on the trail.
Tip: Take the open air cable car up to save energy or down if your legs give out!
Fun fact: It’s one of the world’s oldest mountains, over 260 million years old.

Castle of Good Hope
#aprilblooms
South Africa’s oldest colonial building! Exploring this star-shaped fort gave me real insight into Cape Town’s early days.
Cannons, old dungeons, and changing of the guard included. You can also get the best views of the Table Mountain. Be careful around the entrance though.
Entry is R50. Tip: Join a guided tour — it brings the place to life.
Fun fact: It’s been standing since the 1600s!

Constantia Valley
#aprilblooms
This is South Africa’s oldest wine estate and it’s as picturesque as it is tasty. The wines were top-notch and the views over the vineyards are dreamy.
Entry is free, tasting packages start at R150. Groot Constantia is on the route of the Big Bus.
Tip: Try the chocolate and wine pairing!
Fun fact: Napoleon used to have Groot Constantia wine shipped to him in exile.
