Tenmonkan
Traveling is all about gourmet food 😋 Since I've come all the way here, I can't help but eat a lot. The hotel buffet was fine, but I searched for a nice cafe nearby and found "Dunken Coffee" ☕️🍞 It seems to be very popular among locals, and there were customers lining up before going to work 🚶 The simple toast was crispy and fluffy, and the decaf coffee was fragrant, and I had a very satisfying morning. Sakurajima was lively from the morning, so I wonder if he enjoyed a delicious breakfast.😆 I chose light soba noodles for dinner, and my fun Kagoshima trip, which was also balanced, came to an end.🔚 📍danken COFFEE Tenmonkan Branch 10-14 Higashi-Sengoku-cho, Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture 📍Soba Chaya Fukiagean Tenmonkan Branch 11-6 Higashi-Sengoku-cho, Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture #kagoshima #kagoshimatourism #kagoshimatrip #kagoshimafood #kagoshimacafe #kagoshimacafe #kagoshimatrip #tenmonkan #tenmonkanfood #tenmonkancafe #absolutelyfreetrip #sakurajima

Terukuni Shrine
Terukuni Shrine is one of the most representative shrines in Kagoshima City. It enshrines Shimazu Nariakira, the 28th lord of Satsuma Domain, who was an important figure in promoting Japan's modernization during the late Edo period. The shrine has solemn and elegant architecture, spectacular torii gates, a quiet environment and lush trees, providing a peaceful place for citizens and tourists to find spiritual comfort. The June Lantern Festival held in July every year is even more lively. At that time, lanterns will be lit inside and outside the shrine, creating a dreamy night atmosphere. ⸻ 📍 Traffic Information • Tram: Take the Kagoshima Tram and get off at the "Tenmonkan-dori" station. It is about a 5-minute walk to the destination. • City View Bus: Take the Kagoshima City View Bus and get off at the Saigo-Dohden-mae stop. It is about a 3-minute walk from the hotel. • On foot: From JR Kagoshima-Chuo Station, it is approximately a 20-minute walk to the destination. ⸻ 🏞 Recommended nearby attractions • Shiroyama Park: From Terukuni Shrine, it is about a 20 to 30-minute walk along the nature trail. Shiroyama Park is located on a small hill in the city of Kagoshima, about 107 meters above sea level. From the observation deck on the top of the hill, you can see Sakurajima, the symbol of Kagoshima, Kinko Bay, and the city view. The night view is also quite charming. • Tenmonkan Shopping Arcade: Just a 5-minute walk from Terukuni Shrine, it is one of the busiest commercial areas in Kagoshima City. The shopping street is equipped with a canopy, so you can stroll around comfortably even on rainy days. There are many restaurants, cafes, and shops nearby, making daily life very convenient. Terukuni Shrine is not only an important religious center for Kagoshima citizens, but also an excellent place to learn about Kagoshima’s history and culture. Whether you are interested in Japanese history, architecture, aesthetics or culture, Terukuni Shrine is worth a visit.
