米爾頓山酒店(Milton Hill House)

Stayed there for a wedding, nice place with good service!

The hotel was busy when we arrived and there was only 1 member of staff who was clearly struggling although putting on a cheerful face. We were told the restaurant was fully booked till 8pm but we were not worried, there was a room service menu in the room, telephone did not work so walked to reception to be told no room service today! The room itself was very tired, yellow and sticky on the skirting boards, furniture scratched and worn. The bathroom had not been cleaned thoroughly so much so that you could see an imprint on the windowsill where someone had sat on it before getting dressed! We were woken up up at 5.15am by furniture being dragged around in the restaurant below us, this went on for 15 minutes, the staff had no thought about the time or noise they were creating. Breakfast was ok but very little left in the buffet, no croissants, no service, I could go on … We had booked for 3 nights but left after 1, never to return.

When you book a hotel with the picture on the front you expect to be song in that building. But that didn't happen we had a bedroom inside a concrete slab build. Though the room was comfortable it was very disappointing when we drove around the corner and say that awful building. Food was lovely staff were very friendly and really nice.

Good location. Room very hot but fan provided which was helpful. Pool was an asset. Lovely grounds to walk in. Staff helpful. Not particularly impressed by breakfast. Came midway opening hours and many items gone and not replaced. Had to search for cups. Grateful for soya milk option.

FOOD ABSOLUTE RUBBISH … pizza hard edge inedible tapped plate with it & pizza didn’t break …chicken half terrible .. overcooked it had a leather type underside & dry as old bones … salad good … complained as couldn’t eat it … they charged me for salad & middle of pizza ! For my wife who is diabetic needed clean cooked food .. we both went to bed hungry. DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.. spoilt stay .. breakfast was slightly better but was definitely left wanting for freshness.. left in hot plates far to long .. waste of money!

The hotel itself is really quite nice. The reception staff are incredibly helpful. However, the food isn’t great quality and the restaurant staff seemed distracted and it took us over 40 minutes from finishing our dinner to being able to pay the bill, despite asking, three individual staff members. However, the staff at breakfast were excellent and couldn’t be more helpful. A shame it was let down by the food quality. Quite a nice place to stay if you find the right deal and price. And don’t mind a few oddities on the way.

I stayed in the annexe building a couple of months ago, and whilst the outside of the building was horrific… 1970’s pre fabricated block style, the room was bright, clean, modern and comfortable. I decided to treat my daughter to a birthday weekend away. I read the reviews and took the advice to stay in the manor House accomodation as the rooms were advertised as being much more impressive than the already lovely ones in the annexe. I paid £60 more per night to stay in the deluxe room. On arrival, we checked in, went to our room which was slightly larger than the annexe rooms but much more dated, we had no view but the room was still bright and airy. We started to unpack and as we did, we found the room was really tired, the paintwork was chipped and marked, the skirting boards were cracking away from the walls, ceiling cracked, windowsills were marked and grubby, the vanity unit and door in the bathroom had peeling paint all over and the There was a small tile missing in the bathroom and another had been replaced with a tile that did not match. All in all, it did not feel deluxe. I called reception and they sent a housekeeper, we agreed the room was not dirty, it needed redecoration. We could not be swapped rooms due to a wedding but were offered dinner or a partial refund but agreed an upgraded room for our next night…. What an amazing room!!… it was absolutely stunning!!… huge room, huge bed. Beautiful. Will definitely request this room next time!! A fab stay.

The hotel is an old building that has been extended over time so a bit higgle piggle. Unfortunately i visited during the hot weather and the room was way too warm and stuffy as no aircon or fan so not a good stay. Breakfast only ok. Dinner was also only ok. Fish was way over cooked .

Lovely grounds, helpful staff who are friendly and approachable, especially Jeannette who was at reception and met us with a warm welcome. Breakfast had many good options for all dietary requirements. The room was clean and tidy. Overall very lovely stay and would definitely recommend!
