I am glad I didn’t pay full price ($350/night) for this. Great location and everything looks nice from the outside and the lobby. The room is decent from the looks but once you stay in there, you will realized nothing is working properly. The AC/Heater was not working, the control for the AC/Heater doesn’t work so the AC was blasting cold air all night on NYE!!! So we were both freezing and it was 2am! The TV only have 5 channels and 2 are the same as the other 2, so in reality only 3 channels. The TV quality is also very outdated. Feel like we were watching TV from the 80s/90s when it was the actual 2024 NYE concerts. And on the 5th channel, it is just showing how DirectTV subscription is expired, like what? The Wifi in the room is not free unless you are a Bonvoy member. There was less than a quarter roll of toilet paper on the Tp dispenser and they also didn’t provide a second roll. The body wash pump was empty and the shampoo ran out. The bottom side of the toilet seat looks very filthy as if they haven’t clean that part of the toilet seat in a while. The floor of the bathroom was also very dirty. We usually check if we can ask for a late check-out the night before, but we called the front desk with no answers. When they finally answered, they said we have to call back at 7am to let us know. Ehh Hello? The whole point of getting a late check out is so we can sleep in? So I had to set an alarm to call back at 7am to get a 1pm check out. It was a bit annoying. This was a big disappointment for me because this was supposed to be a nice hotel from Marriott as the Autograph Collection. Especially for $350 a night in the middle of Old Town Alexandria, I had expected better quality. Not to mention the chaos during check-in. Seems like there were only 4 workers there for HUNDReDs of customer. People were angry about being stuck in the parking garage and no one can help them and they gave a lady a room that currently already have someone checked-in. Apparently the lady opened the door when the guy was showering in the room. What a chaos!

On the second night of our stay we had an issue with the dogs that were in the room next to ours. We returned from dinner to barking that we figured would stop over time. After an hour and a half, contacted the front desk and were told they would try to contact the occupants. An hour later my husband went to the staff at the front desk and was told they had not heard from occupants. Forty five minutes later, at 10:15pm I went to the front desk and was told they had tried the contact numbers for the occupants, got voicemails, left messages but they were being ignored. I told the staff that I either needed a different room or we were leaving, we would not be able to sleep due to the dogs. The staff found us another room, and at 10:30 at night we packed up all our stuff and moved. The dogs clearly had separation anxiety and their owners who were out for the evening , leaving the TV on to console the dogs, were inconsiderate of other guests

This is very very basic hotel with limit services .. rooms on king street side was extremely noisy could hear everything from street .. diff need to update windows and also the heat/air units unreal loud … also do not use hotel parking as lot bossier hotel only $10 per day .. street park east also ..

Starting to charge mandatory “credit” for food at restaurant, etc. I find that very off-putting. Since I travel their for work often I think I’ll have to find another place. They’ve consistently gone downhill in my opinion over the past few years.

I'm sorry to have to write this note, because the Alexandrian my favorite hotel to stay in when visiting Washington, DC. I was a guest on 1-2 April in room 522. From around midnight to 4AM, a small to mid-size group of (what sounded like) 20-somethings were running up and down the halls from room to room, and making a surprising amount of noise. I wanted to ask them to please hold it down, but could tell many of them were inebriated. I was trained to recognize this from my 25 years in federal law enforcement. I kept hoping they would stop on their own, but it only got worse. I finally called the front desk, and the receptionist stated that she was going to "call the police at this point". That tells me other guests were disturbed and concerned as well. The disturbance didn't abate until at least 4AM. Even though I have been trained as a LE officer, I was very concerned for my safety due to the size and condition of the group. The almost complete lack of sleep affected me during several meetings the following day. I mentioned this to their receptionist the next morning (I checked out around 11AM), but she seemed unconcerned. Respectfully, Chris

This was our first visit to Alexandria. We loved the area, it was safe, had plenty of dining & shopping. We will definitely come back to the area & stay at the Alexandrian (great location).

Love this place and have stayed here several times... clean, nice staff, comfortable setting, right in the middle of Olde Towne... BUT... baffled by restaurant and bar service? Staying IN the hotel as a guest... came down for business meeting/coffee in the morning--- a dozen tables "open," and told "We are full... no room." Bar is NOT open every night... opens late when it does open and then not open some nights, open others. I know of NO Four Star Hotel that does not have a bar open basically afternoon through late night -- losing potential tons of business here! Does not make me want to return... but did not eat in the restaurant (because I had to battle with empty tables and 'full reservations,') and did not visit the bar once, (because no rhyme or reason to when it was open or closed) -- so, well, lots of eateries and bars got our business -- in this case, the Alexandrian did not. Think again folks... open up! :)

Beautiful historic property in quaint Oldtown and just minutes from Downtown DC. Lots to do and see. We had a lovely stay.

Great location! Nice staff ! Only negative Loud rumbling sound all night long . Hard to get a good night’s sleep.
