塔威山林小屋(Tawi Lodge)

これまでいろいろなホテルに泊まってきたが、ロケーションが最高！ ホテルの前の池に象やキリン、シマウマなどが次から次にあらわれて、自分がどこにいるのか忘れるぐらい。 部屋も広々していて清潔で使いやすい。 もちろんスタッフも良かったです。

This lodge was just ok. The permanent en suite tents need upgrading. Mattress needs replacing. On the positive side, the food was excellent as was the service. Grounds are nice and every effort is made to ensure safety at night. We were on a safari and among the lodges we used during a two week trip, this was the most rustic.

This camp was beautiful! Located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro and with its own watering hole, you could truly spend your days lounging at the pool while the elephants, zebras, impalas, etc join you nearby. The property is gorgeous and our “tent” was so lovely. The food was so good and plentiful! The manager Alfonse was incredible! He personally selected our wonderful,guide Henry Oigara, checked on us each day to ensure our every desire was met and even arranged a fabulous birthday celebration for us! He was committed to make our stay memorable and he exceeded in every way! Titus, head of service, took fabulous care of us. He spoiled us rotten and made us feel special! Winnie gave the best massages which were so needed after long jeep drives. She was so good that I had one two days in a row! Henry our guide was simply the BEST! We had personal game drives with him each day seeing elephants crossing the road, giving themselves a mudbath, a newborn wildebeest, the list goes on. His knowledge is extensive and he has the best laugh and sense of humor! We adored our time with him. He even stayed and waves to us as our plane left. He is a special and amazing human that we were honored to meet and become friends with. Well done Tawi Lodge!

This Eco lodge is a wonder. Located in a 3000 acre private Conservancy right next to the Amboseli National park, this place brings a great connection between nature and comfort. The local ecosystem is extremely rich in wildlife. In fact, just on the way from the air***** I was able to see three out of the Big Five. The lodge itself has a rustic feel very consistent with the surroundings. However, it is extremely comfortable. The lodge has a beautiful pool, a sitting area and a dining area, all overlooking a very coveted watering hole, where I saw elephants and giraffes every single day. The food is delicious and plentiful. The staff is kind and attentive. Gabriel, my guide went out of his way to ensure that I saw as much wildlife as possible, and to teach me everything about the local wildlife and culture. The experience is great, and I would not doubt going there in the future. I highly recommend it. Note the camel Safari was not available at the time of my visit, however, my stay was great, nonetheless.

Es war einer unserer schönsten Lodges auf unserem Trip. Sehr geschmackvoll. Tolles Wasserloch. Täglich kamen 3 bis 4 Elefantenbullen zum Frühstück. Auch tagsüber kamen Giraffen und Elefanten zu Besuch. Einfach der Hammer. Personal sehr freundlich. Super Service. Toller Sundowner mit den Parkranger. Sehr zu empfehlen.👌

Excellent lodge. La partie hebergement est confortable, la nourriture excellente et le service de qualité, vous y serez tres bien accueilli. Petit coup de coeur sur la vue !! Les activités proposées sont un plus Le lodge est bien placé, pas loin de l’entrée du parc. Merci a Gladys pour son accueil

We just came back from two days at Tawi Lodge. It was booked as part of our safari itinerary with Kenya Experience. It was a wonderful stay from start to finish. This eco-lodge is set on a 3000 acre conservancy that not only benefits the wildlife but also the local community. On our way in and out of the grounds each day to Amboseli National Park (entrance about 15 to 20 minutes away), we saw so many giraffes, gazelles, impalas, monkeys, and even a hyena my mom thought we were in the national park). During breakfast, an elephant stopped by the watering hole I nearly panicked and dropped my fork. The service is impeccable. When we arrived the staff and managers were lined up ready to welcome us. We were given cold towels to freshen up, given an introduction to the main lodge, then shown to our rooms. The rooms were very spacious. And yes being an eco-lodge, you should be aware hot water is powered by solar, though they made a point that they can make more if needed and to let them know if we want to take a bath versus using a shower. We know water is a valuable resource so we opted not to use the bath tub as a hot shower was plenty for us. The food in their restaurant is great. Lunch first day was ok but fantastic second day. Dinner selections are stellar and delicious. Would definitely recommend the sundowner as having a glass of wine while the sun sets over the conservancy and Mt Kilimanjaro revealing itself was truly special. Alphonse, the manager, recommended this and he did not disappoint!

Tawi Lodge is such a cool special place. I am glad we went in the wet season as I hear the dust can be a challenge for both the customers and the staff. We visited Nov 6th - 9th, 2023 Gabriel picked us up at the airport and was so happy to offer us a Tusker (Local beer). He was gracious and patient as we had to roll through 5 different credit cards to pay try and pay the Park fees. Stupid banks…LOL. Once we arrived at Tawi, Elizabeth greeted us with such a spunky fire that it left us smiling as we checked into our room. This is a very calm environment and great as it only has 13 rooms, so you can get to know the staff and other guests. We did a Full Board experience, as the portions for breakfast and dinner were more than enough for the two of us. We only stayed 3 nights and went on two game drives with Gabriel and a sundowner. Gabriel is very informative in his game drives; shared some local cultural knowledge, and made us laugh with some of his adventurous stories. My favorite is the one about the turtle. (You have to go to hear it…LOL) Titus was extremely attentive in both dinner and bartender services and always made sure we were taken care of while at Tawi. His servers, although shy, were also very attentive and made sure we did not want for anything. I did use the pool, even though it was their winter. Still 82 degrees Fahrenheit. I think they thought I was crazy, since they were all in winter clothes, but it was kind of nice to have it all to myself. We were recommended to take a nature walk with Larusha, the local Masai Warrior, and then meet up with Gabriel for a sundowner. We learned a great deal about their local culture, the animals, and plants. I even think their toothbrush stick works better than the toothbrush I brought! When catching up with Gabriel for some snacks and wine as the sun went down, we had some more in depth conversations around family, culture, and life in general. Getting to know the people here in Kenya was my favorite part of this visit!

THIS IS NOT A 5 STARS HOTEL. We are travelers and we stay alla round the world in luxury hotels (working in the hospitality industry) and this is NOT a 5 stars hotel. It is a scam: so bad value for money. We found bugs in our bed right behind the pillows. Moreover, they were everywhere in the room, bathroom for all night and day. We couldn’t sleep as we had to stay awake to kill the insects and all sort of huge bugs that were entering due to poor construction of the building. We wanted to leave early right after the first night. Once we said this to the manager, not only he didn’t apologize but he made us feel like we were the problem. This hotel is really led by bad management and it is NOT a luxury stars hotel: service is poor, WiFi is only available in the lobby (medium size room with 3 couches) and NOT in the rooms, checkout is done in the backoffice of the manager with all the paper work, food is poor, waiters do not answer to your requests. Game drives and other services are incredibly expensive compared to other hotels in the area. Do yourself a favor and do not stay at TAWI LODGE
