I travel on business most weeks and normally had been staying in Premier Inn‘s and Travelodge. During and after Covid I decided to use smaller and independent hotels and B&Bs for my size to try and help the industry. Looking at the photos White Hart Hotel Seemed a well priced and well situated option.
On arrival I checked in no problem and got my key’s, I headed to the room up a maze of stairs and found my room on the top floor, opening the door I found a very tired and dated room that look nothing like the photos the room was dark and not very clean the windows secondary glazing with mould growing on the frame and glass the carpets were stained and the bed didn’t fit against the wall as there is a recess so during the night pillows kept falling down the gap in the bathroom the toilet was cracked the seat is loose and the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall. Thinking It’s only for two nights I settled in and decided to have a bath having run the bath you had to keep the tap running because the push down plug leaked and the water ran out as fast as you could put it in. So down to the restaurant for a meal not great but ok, back to the room where you could hear loud music playing until midnight and then woken up at 6 am buy the beer being delivered and the barrels dropped onto the street outside overall I was very disappointed and will not be staying at the White Hart in future however I will still try to give the independent Hotels my trade.
