Wonderful stay

The room was generally clean and comfortable, though it could use more light in the room. Our big problem was that they would not give us a first floor room. We had called weeks in advance and requested a first floor room, as my wife and I are both handicapped and there is no elevator. We were told it would not be a problem as long as we arrived early. We arrived before 5 and were told that no 1st floor rooms were available. And no elevator! So, they gave us a room on the side of the building where no handicapped parking was available, forcing 2 handicapped people in their 70's to haul 300 lbs of gear up a stairway. It took us nearly an hour to drag everything us the stairs, as rollers don't work with stairs. Same issue with leaving 3 days later. Other than that, the breakfast was good. TV worked well once we changed the batteries in the controller. Hair dryer did not work but they got us another promptly. Good shower, comfy beds. AC did not work well on arrival, so I cleaned the coils myself and then it worked fine. Doors badly need some weatherstripping, as rain blew in around our door. Staff was very friendly. Other than that, I guess we could have done worse.

The Best Western Appalachicola is conveniently located just a mile or so from downtown Appalachicola. There are many restaurants and shops in downtown Appalachicola. The hotel is clean, but could use some upgrading as in carpeting and general maintenance. The staff are very nice and welcoming.

Property very clean, wonderful pillows, air conditioner working ery well. Room spacious and clean. Love that the property is pet friendly. One or two streets over in walking distance is a street covered with a canopy of Live Oak trees. Beautiful. Would definitely stay again

Needs lots of updating. Breakfast food was mediocre. Pool out of service. carpets very dirty. Only good thing was that is a quiet area.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. We could hear the neighboring room very easily and people out front. Thin walls. Check in staff was very friendly.

Staff was great. Shower went from hot to ice cold. Other guests were very loud-with doors open calling from room to room.

An older property that is still in very good condition. I particularly liked the very nice warm welcome by the lady at check in.

Hotel is what it is for the price. Dated but it was clean and every staff member was super friendly.

We've stayed at this facility a few times while in Apalachicola to judge BBQ contests. Old, but dependable. Housekeeping was great and the free breakfast more than adequate.

Alexis at the front desk was amazing! She was helpful and incredibly accommodating. The room was great, but her service was better!

The bed was terrible. Very lumpy and soft. Time for replacement.
