Nice family friendly pub, with good nibbles, and meals, Cullen Skink is very good ! Watch sport, chat to the locals, good beer, good food and great atmosphere !! !! ***********************************

My wife and her friend called in for lunch on 6th June 2023 Chose the salmon with very little imagination put into the dish except a few very small prawns on top. Chips on the skinny side and over priced meals. Service very slow and the coup de grace was y wife asked for an Eton Mess and she was told no strawberries but she could still have one so my wife asked what berries could they offer instead . The waiter said none. What a clown.We live in the area and would have visited if a good experience but am afraid I wouldn't recommend to an enemy let alone a friend

Booked a birthday dinner with family here, whilst staying a night in Helensburgh en route to Fort William. It was lovely. The pub has been done up very nicely for 2023 (if I dare say it, London standard!), but still in keeping with being on the Clyde. The publican clearly has hospitality experience (great sense of humour :) and made us feel very welcome. The food was also ‘gastropub’ standard, and surprisingly accommodating to a gluten intolerance. The new owners are on to something. Cannot recommend enough!

Rubbish food under cooked. Sack the chef / cook. Value for money I don't think so. over priced small portions. The kitchen is located upstairs and the food is basic at least. Worth visiting for a pint, but that's about all it offers. Parking is o. No off road parking on a blind bend.

This was going to be 3* but the Brunch saved it! Once we found which entrance way to go through to the check-in area we were greeted warming and pointed to our room - No. 9 - Neptune (bit strange for the only water-related named room to not have a loch view but that’s just me!). The room was lovely and spacious with a lot of plugs and USB ports for your gadgets, very clean and well maintained, a good amount of storage space and a very large and bright bathroom with a shower and bath/shower combo as well and nice large towels. There were a a couple issue in the bathroom; there was no towel hook next to the sink for the hand towels and the only towel rack is over by the toilet, which is an odd place to have the towel rack, the towel rack itself is heated by not big enough to place to towels on easily and the showers took a very long time to get hot and had very little pressure, we tried both to see if one was better than the other but there was no luck. The bed was VERY comfy, a nice firm mattress and plush duvet which made for a really good nights sleep. Breakfast was very disappointing, unfortunately… once we made our way through the maze of corridors to the breakfast room we were greeted warmly and pointed to a seat, no other guidance was provided as to how the breakfast service worked and there were no prices on the menu to be able to work anything out, my husband went to get us coffee and instead of there being an urn of coffee you just had to spoon some instant granules in to the cup and add hot water, there was no bread or toaster, no plates, a couple of bowels which didn’t look overly clean, a few muffins, croissants, cereals, apples and pots of of pre-prepared fruit. This lead us to just have a coffee and leave, but in doing so went to Beachcomber Cafe and had an incredible breakfast! The next day we decided to give their Brunch a try with my sister and brother-in-law… this really redeemed them! My brother-in-law and I had a Big Traditional Scottish Breakfast, my sister had a regular Traditional Scottish Breakfast and my husband had Toast & Jam as well as a bowel of Porridge with Honey (which wasn’t on the menu but they kindly made it) - everything was cooked well, nice and hot, great quality ingredients, this time lovely coffee and very friendly and helpful staff, this certainly made up for the previous day. Based on our overall experience we WOULD still be happy to stay here again.

Came back here again with my friends and we really enjoyed it, service was a bit slow but what do you expect from a busy restaurant, it was well worth the wait and the food was mouth watering and delicious, the staff was very welcoming made us feel at home too, we had our drinks within 10 minutes of sitting down couldn’t fault a single thing, keep up the good work !!!!

I arrived, checked in, given my entry card to my room but when I got there, someone had not moved out! Therefore, a double room that I'd booked was not available! Back down to reception & I was offered a single room. That's OK but I said I was not going to pay the same as for the double. I was offered a single room which I accepted but for a 50% discount. Still awaiting the bill.

Great customer service and lovely stay. Food and drinks were spot on and a minor issue dealt with very quickly and to our total satisfaction. Location is good and masses of free car parking available. Will be back.

First visit since under new ownership. Really nice interior and we had an excellent lunch, fish & chips which were lovely and well presented. Pleasant staff and we're looking forward to calling in again.
