Excellent location with parking. Staff were very kind and welcoming.good size room.

Need some refurb in the interior

Good for a 2 night stay as was really central to everything and staff were all very lovely and accommodating. I did have to make mention that the heater didn’t appear to work and the room was quite cold despite having heater up to highest setting. Breakfast was overpriced at $24 for some cereal, toast and juice. Not sure if this is standard price for Auckland tho. I also wasn’t thrilled that the bed covers were dirty either from stains or just not being washed

Great location but the room looked nothing like the pictures. No view and the room quite dark and very tired. Looked out on a solid wall out one window and the loading dock / entrance to the car park out the other. Also, quite noisy traffic as the hotel rooms are on the lower floors. The location really the only good thing here.

About time it had a revamp. Shower over bathtub that is very narrow with a shower curtain that blows in on you while showering, not nice. Bed ok but had to lie looking up into dusty grate for aircon right above my pillow. For some reason this stay we didn't get a fob for garage when parking so no way down to car without going to reception and have to buzz to get into garage, less than satisfactory. Top it off with the $150 deposit taken on card at check-in, totally unnecessary when GC Wellington only holds $1 and is far superior hotel. Carpet in the room was frayed at joins, and walls so thin can hear people next door using kitchen while lying in bed. Won't be using this GC again.

Great location minutes away from the viaduct basin, Queen St, restaurants, bars & shopping. Booked a 1 bedroom suite for AUD$130 per night, very reasonable I thought for an inner city hotel, complete with kitchen & a small balcony. Awesome pool, spa & sauna including gym. Would happily stay again.

Good cooking facilities. No pen available to complete "use of mini bar" form. Shower head leaked sending water onto the floor and soaking clean towel and clean clothes. Thus was despite closing the shower curtain. No offer of discount at near-by parking building when hotel parking was "full". We had not booked a parking spot but decided that leaving the car overnight in Manurewa car park was not a safe option! Very handy for Sky Theatre and restaurants on Federal St. Also handy for access to the viaduct.

The place was in a good location and had good facilities. A little run down and a bit of street noise but otherwise ok. The experience would have been much improved if I could have used my keycard to enter the basement to get to my car and the pool area as opposed to needing to ask the front desk.

The Grand Chancellor is a centrally located hotel in easy walking distance to Britomart Plaza and Viaduct Harbour. So good shopping and dining options are close at hand. It is an older hotel in need of a facelift, but my serviced 1 bedroom apartment was clean and spacious and was perfect for my short stay.
