奧斯汀Moxy - 大學(Moxy Austin - University)

The overall feeling of the hotel is good, suitable for young people, the interior decoration is young and trendy, and it is very close to the University of Texas. Generally speaking, the location is advantageous, but the price does not match the hardware facilities. The lobby and bar are integrated, and there will be parties at night, which is more suitable for couples or young people.

Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable on things to do in the local area. Hotel bar had a good view too. Highly recommend.

Always love this hotel. So nice from the moment I walked in. Close walk to lots of things. Fun design. Great outdoor area. Free video games. Cool vibe. Only disappointment was the bar closing early but not enough to take away from my awesome stay.

I chose this hotel because it is the closest to UT Austin. It is apparently relatively newly constructed, and they've tried very hard (too hard) to be hip and trendy. The check-in counter is the same as the bar -- you check in with the bartender. The room had no desk, no chair, no closet, no bathroom, no housekeeping. Desk = a fold down shelf. Chair was a leather hammock torture device, not functional for any anatomically human animal. Closet was a few hooks and coathangers on the wall, placed so that the clothes hang over the (non)desk shelf. Bathroom - both shower stall and wash basin were in the rooom, so you could take two steps out of the bed and into the shower, at least the toilet had a separate door. Housekeeping - no housekeeper set foot in my room during the 3 days I was there (full disclosure, I had the 'don't disturb' sign up until 11:30am the first day and until 10:00am the second day, not sure if they thought this was a permanent thing). Room was also small, about 3 feet (1 meter) space around the bed, and that was all (my room was a corner room, so had "flag" corriddor about 6 ft by 12 ft that provided no useful space). The bed was comfortable, and it is the closest to UT Austin (across the street).

PROS: Location, Front Desk Team, especially Adin who was warm, friendly and welcoming. Comfortable bed and pillows. Great shower and good hot water and water pressure. CONS: Zombie Taco in-house restaurant-overly expensive food came out cold and unappetizing. Chair in room unusable at drop-down, built-in desk. VIBE OVER USABILITY -no closet, or dresser. No ability to hang up clothing or put clothing away anywhere in room. The Moxy’s obvious focus on Gen Zers in style and decor might look cool, but it leaves most travelers with real clothes and real luggage, and business to do out of luck. Unless you’re living out of a backpack or carry on you might want to seek lodging elsewhere.

The Moxy was fun, funky and friendly, but not that great for a stay of more than a day or two. No closet, no drawers(!), no fridge, no office chair. We were there during a slow period, but it looks like it might be a party hub in busier times.

Super cool hotel with amazing vibes. Very clean and close to all things good! Only issue…the mattress was the absolute worst we have ever experienced! Probably would not stay there again due to no sleep which is a shame because the hotel and staff are so great otherwise!!
